This rural house is situated facing South on the banks of the River Alva in the pretty, ancient, market town of Coja and only a short walk from the centre where you will find restaurants, cafes and shops. Coja is set in the hills close to the Serra da Estrela and the surrounding countryside is spectacular.

There is a feeling of peaceful relaxation and it is just the place to unwind and recharge. The closest river beach is a little further up the river from the house and there are more river beaches close by.

House_From_RoadThe nearest seaside town and beach is at Figuiera de Foz approx. 1 hrs drive away on good roads. The university city of Coimbra is approx. 45 mins drive and you can have a pleasant day wandering around the narrow, cobbled streets of the ancient city that was the capital of Portugal for a time. The standard of food in the local restaurants is very good and there is a wide choice of places to eat out.

The house sleeps up to 6 people. It has been well renovated and keeps most of the traditional Portuguese character whilst being spacious and comfortable.

There is a bedroom with ensuite shower room and a double bed on the ground floor, a further bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with 2 single beds and full bathroom on the first floor. The lounge is spacious, has a music centre and some books and games with views across the river and to the mountains and a door leads out on to the upstairs terrace with the same views.

There is a large, kitchen/dining area on the ground floor that retains the original beams and stone walls and leads out to the downstairs terrace where you will find a BBQ. The kitchen has a fridge and gas cooker and all the basic requirements for self-catering.

There is parking to the front of the house for 1 car. Blankets, towels and linen for the house are provided; please bring your own beach towels. The house is cleaned once a week.
