A very long south facing stone cottage with a huge 11 metre open plan living room/studio with stunning curved stone wall and beamed roof. There are two sofas, one of which is a sofa-bed. At one end is a handmade kitchen and dining area with large wood burning stove.

There is a beamed double bedroom and large bathroom with a washing machine.

Outside to the front is a long garden and front courtyard with three abundant olive trees and an orange tree. There are excellent views across the village to the valleys beyond.

Benfeita is a truly magical village with a incredibly friendly welcoming locals and a growing foreigner community of artists, musicians and organic farmers. The village has an attractive summer river pool and beach. This includes a children's pool and changing facilities and is next to the summer bar in the square where concerts, festivals and other events are often held. There is also a tennis court, a local shop, post office and a second bar. Both bars have Wi-Fi and TMN internet dongles work well in the area.

The landscape is awesomely beautiful and there are some breathtaking marked walks like the one to the spectacular waterfall of Fraga da Pena. The nearest small town, Coja is only a ten minute drive. The university city of Coimbra is an hours drive. There is skiing about an hours drive away in the Serra da Estrella mountains and it's about an hour and a half to the beach.
