The house is on 2 storeys and has a courtyard with a bread oven and outside dining furniture.  

The first floor is accessed form the internal courtyard by stairs onto a balcony.  The entrance is into the kitchen area that has gas oven, fridge, kettle, toaster etc.  The living area has seating for 6 and a wood burner for the winter.  There is a door from the kitchen area onto a veranda that looks over the garden and surrounding fields.  There are 2 double bedrooms with fitted wardrobes on this floor and a shower room.

A wooden staircase leads down to the main bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a dressing room where it is possible to put an extra single bed.

There is a storage area and door out to the garden from here which has fruit trees and vines. There is parking for 2 cars at the side of the house.

This is a pretty house in the village of Castanheira where there is a café/restaurant and is approx. 5 kms from the main district town of Arganil where there is a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants and 7 kms from the market town of Coja.  The larger village of Mouronho is less than 3kms away where there is a butcher, chemist, small mini market, post office and a cafe. The nearest river beach is at Secarias approx. 2kms from the house where there are also 3 restaurants and a cafe/ bar.
