Originally built in 1894, this charmingly renovated xisto (slate) cottage is situated high up in the typical rural Portuguese village of Alqueve which is close to both the picturesque market towns of Arganil & Côja with their numerous friendly restaurants & bars to enjoy. The quiet village cafe in Alqueve is only a 5 minute walk away from the cottage. With magnificent mountain views this is an ideal spot for sunbathing or relaxing with a book & a cold drink under the shade of the old fig tree!

The open-plan living area comfortably seats 6 people & leads out onto the two-tiered, stone walled garden with magnificent mountain views and sunshine throughout the day.

The kitchen comes fully equipped for all your self-catering needs & there is also a cast iron ‘chiminea' style BBQ & two tables and six chairs for outdoor dining.

There are two bedrooms downstairs, both with double beds, & an additional sleeping area with a single sofa bed for an extra person. Also downstairs is the bathroom, which has a generous shower, basin, toilet & bidet.

Heating : For the cooler months there's a ‘salamandra' log burner in the main room & radiators in all the bedrooms

A washing service is available at an additional charge. Towels and linen are provided on a weekly basis. Towels mustn't be removed from the cottage and therefore it is advisable to bring your own beach towels. There is no extra charge for cleaning; this is included in the price.

A deposit of 20% is payable on confirmation of booking with the remainder to be paid 4 weeks before arriving.
